As a high altitude skiing area, and a town at 1,850m high, Val d'Isere is a very popular resort for both its snow sure record, charming and very stylish chalets, and a fantastic sophisticated and lively nightlife.
Val d'Isere isn't of course a cheap option, and if you need to ask the price, you'll probably looking at the wrong New Year ski resort, as this is a resort at New Year that probably has more American Express Platinum card holders than the square mile!
